Bestand Font is a sans-serif typeface created by German type designer Paul Renner in 1927.
The typeface is that it does not have a true italic version. This means that it can be difficult to create emphasis or add visual interest to text set in Bestand. However, this drawback is offset by the fact that is very easy to read, even in smaller sizes.
The name Bestand means “stock” or “inventory” in German, and was chosen to reflect the fact that the typeface was designed to be used for a variety of different purposes.
